By a Head
I still have a passion for racing especially seeing the determination of both horse and jockey racing for the finish line.
By a Head is a development from the Evocation of Speed sculpture at Epsom. Again, each horse is supported by a curve, creating a sense of speed. The horse and jockey are in fragmented form to show how in real life, you take in part of the form and not the total figure. The most important part is of course, the nose that goes pass the post and not the rear end.
This was originally designed for a roundabout, overall height of sculpture about four metres with each head having a size of two and half metres in length.
